THAILAND — The Association of Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies (ASITA) Bali has entered into a strategic partnership with global travel experiences booking platform GetYourGuide to expand the international marketing of Bali tourism products and help local travel businesses reach more international visitors.

The partnership was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the GYG Unlocked Summit 2026 at Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok in Bangkok, Thailand, on Sunday, October 18, 2026. I Wayan Suberata, Deputy Chair of ASITA Bali's Destination and Product Development Division, represented the association at the signing ceremony.

ASITA Bali Chair I Putu Winastra welcomed the collaboration, describing it as an opportunity for the association's members to broaden their market reach and promote Bali tourism experiences through an international digital platform.

Digital Marketing Becomes Essential for Bali's Tourism Industry

Winastra emphasized that digitalization has become essential for travel companies seeking to remain competitive as international travelers increasingly rely on digital platforms to discover destinations, compare experiences and book travel activities.

Through the partnership with GetYourGuide, ASITA Bali is encouraging its members to leverage international digital marketing channels to promote their tourism products to a wider global audience.

The initiative is also intended to help local travel businesses adapt to changes in the global tourism industry, where online visibility and digital booking channels play an increasingly important role in connecting tourism providers with potential customers.

For Bali, expanding digital distribution offers an opportunity to showcase experiences beyond conventional holiday packages and reach travelers looking for activities that match their individual interests.

Bali Tourism Products Target International Travelers

Bali offers a diverse range of tourism experiences with potential for international promotion, including cultural tourism, nature-based activities, adventure travel, culinary experiences, wellness tourism and community-based tourism.

These experiences provide local travel companies with opportunities to develop products that appeal to different international visitor segments.

However, product diversity alone is not enough to secure a stronger international presence. Effective marketing strategies and access to the right distribution channels are also important to connect local tourism businesses with travelers seeking specific experiences.

By gaining greater exposure through an international digital platform, Bali travel operators are expected to have additional opportunities to showcase their products and attract potential customers planning trips to the island.

ASITA Bali Supports Digital Transformation in Travel Businesses

The collaboration with GetYourGuide forms part of ASITA Bali's broader efforts to encourage digital transformation across the regional travel industry.

Through information-sharing and outreach to its members, the association aims to improve access to digital marketing opportunities and encourage travel businesses to adapt to evolving international travel trends.

The initiative is expected to help local operators strengthen their market presence, expand their distribution networks and improve the visibility of Bali's tourism products among international travelers.

ASITA Bali hopes the partnership will enable more locally developed tourism experiences to gain recognition in global markets while supporting the competitiveness of Bali's travel industry.
