Fire Erupts at Fireworks Warehouse in Denpasar, Three Residents Affected

BALI – A fire broke out at a fireworks warehouse on Siulan III Street, Nusantara Indah 5 Alley, Bekul Neighborhood, Penatih Dangin Puri Village, East Denpasar District, Denpasar City, Bali, on Tuesday (September 15, 2026), at around 3:30 p.m. WITA.

The blaze not only destroyed the fireworks warehouse but also affected nearby residential and motorcycle repair buildings. Several motorcycles were also damaged in the incident.

Head of the Denpasar City Fire and Rescue Service, I Made Tirana, said the fire caused damage to several buildings and vehicles around the location.

Based on the incident response report, one residential house and one fireworks warehouse were burned, while a motorcycle repair shop was affected. Around five motorcycles also suffered damage. In addition, another house was flooded as a result of the firefighting operation. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation by the authorities.

The fireworks warehouse fire in East Denpasar also affected three residents. A 35-year-old resident identified as I Made Gede suffered burn injuries and was referred to Dharma Yadnya General Hospital for medical treatment.

Meanwhile, Kadek Budi Ari, 40, experienced shortness of breath and was also referred to Dharma Yadnya General Hospital. Another resident, Tina Gustina, 22, was reportedly hit by a burst of flames and suffered shortness of breath. She is currently staying at home and is reported to be in a safe condition.

The fire also affected six families, comprising a total of 20 people. The affected residents consist of 12 adults and eight children.

For the time being, residents affected by the fire are being accommodated at the homes of their closest relatives. Authorities are also conducting assessments and rapid assessments to determine the residents' needs following the incident.

The government is preparing basic necessities while also seeking to facilitate physical and psychological health assessments for affected residents.

The Denpasar City Social Service has distributed logistical assistance to residents affected by the fire. The assistance included 20 folding mattresses, 12 family kits, and eight children's kits.

In addition to logistical assistance, the government is facilitating administrative services for residents whose documents were damaged or destroyed in the fire through relevant local government agencies.

The emergency response involved the Denpasar City Fire and Rescue Service, Denpasar City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Denpasar City Social Service, Denpasar City Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), East Denpasar District administration, East Denpasar Police, East Denpasar Military District Command (Koramil), Penatih Dangin Puri Village authorities and their staff, Babinsa and Bhabinkamtibmas personnel, Denpasar Red Cross (PMI), and Tagana Denpasar.

Authorities are continuing to handle the situation and assess the extent of the damage caused by the fire. Meanwhile, the exact cause of the fireworks warehouse fire in East Denpasar remains under investigation.
